Having Trouble Understanding Your New eBike Shocks?
You came to the right place! Shocks are a fantastic feature to have, though they are not always the most user friendly, especially to new riders. Learn more about your shocks below:
Shock Basics
Preload
A fork suspension typically has a knob on top of one of the stanchions to allow for the tension on the shock to be adjusted. Increase the preload with a counterclockwise adjustment of the knob if the fork feels soft, spongy or saggy.
Lockout
A fork has a stanchion top lever to lock out the fork, which stops the travel of the stanchions completely. This reduce loss of energy while pedaling on completely smooth surfaces or ascensions.
