This should be done before trying to diagnose symptoms related to the BB (Bottom Bracket) and before you give your bike to a mechanic who may or may not be familiar with bottom brackets with permanent wiring.
If you or a mechanic tries to adjust the cups of the bottom bracket, without taking the proper steps, your wiring may be permanently damaged. This video below is a great overview, however, it is slightly different in the LMT'D and Roadsters, as the wire goes into the down tube.
