Section 1: A Few Reminders
- Please, carefully align the display wire before connecting it. There is a notch on each part and arrows on each part showing alignment.
- Make sure you crank arms are installed 180° from each other.
- The crank arm easily installs on to the spindle of the bottom bracket once any packing material in the area is removed. Applying grease to the spindle is not required, but ensures it will be quiet and makes it easier to fully mate the tapered crank arm and spindle.
- The left pedal must go on the left. It is reverse thread, to install it, you must properly align it and then rotate it by hand counter clock to begin threading it in. Verify it is threaded in properly. Then tighten with a thin wrench (15mm or adjustable, if the head is too wide, it will cause damage).
- The right pedal must go on the right. It has a standard thread. Rotate by hand clockwise to begin. Verify it is threaded in properly. Then tighten with a thin wrench (15mm or adjustable, if the head is too wide, it will cause damage).
- Make sure your fork is on correctly and not backwards (brake caliper and rotor goes on the left side of the bike).
- Before installing the fork, make sure your cable and wire routing is ideal, please compare yours to the video.
- Handlebars - You may need to flip the handlebars before installing (left to right, right to left, front to back, back to front) so the wires are properly routed and the handlebars properly installed.
- Do not squeeze brake levers before brakes are installed.
- Before you install the front wheel, remove the plastic spacer from the front brake caliper, it is in between the brake pads. This is can be used anytime you remove the front wheel when storing or transporting the bike. Please save it.
- Do not touch the brake rotors with your fingers. The oil can contaminate them and cause them to be noisy when used.
Section 2: Headset, Fork, Top Cap - If you are not familiar with installing this or not familiar with bicycle part names, it may be best to have it assembled by a bike shop. Please watch video carefully.
- Carefully install fork fully, make sure it is seated well with the bottom of the head tube. Only the crown race should be on the fork steerer tube at this time.
- Insert compression ring around fork steerer tube.
- Slide it down, the lip of the compression ring will insert just inside of the bearing when the fork steerer tube is properly centered. This make take some adjustment to get it to sit just right.
- Next place the cone spacer or conical spacer on. Make sure the plastic/ring or dust cover is also installed with this. It should fit right on this spacer.
- Add remaining spacers on steerer tube.
- Put stem on on steerer tube (but do not tighten bolts yet!). Are you handle bars on correct? Are the wires and cables routed properly?
- Insert top cap and bolt, carefully tighten it top cap bolt as shown in the video.
- Now you can tighten bolts on stem where it connects to steerer tube. Please be careful and slowly tighten in a criss cross pattern. Do not over tighten or you may strip the stem.
- Check to make sure, there is no play in the fork. That the it is well seated at the bottom of the head tube and the top of the head tube.
Section 3: Crank Arm and Chainring
- The crank arm simply slides on (oriented 180 degrees from the other crank arm). Then use the 8mm hex wrench to tighten the crank arm bolts on both the left and right side.
Section 4: Assembly Complete? Now is a great time to tune your ebike:
- Tune your derailleur with the bike turned off. Failure to tune your derailleur and set the limit screws may cause damage to your rear wheel, motor, power cable, derailleur, and derailleur hanger.
- Make sure your brakes are well adjusted and tuned.
- Are your cables and wires routed well?
