Step-by-Step Instructions for Cafe Cruiser & Rift

Step 1: Install Foot Pegs

  1. Slide a large washer onto the M8x35mm bolt.

  2. Insert the bolt from the inside of the rear chainstay.

  3. Carefully thread it into the foot peg, ensuring it only folds upward (not down or sideways).

  4. Securely tighten with a 13mm wrench.

  5. Repeat for the other side.

Step 2: Attach Wheel Covers

  1. Slide a small washer onto each M5x15mm bolt.

  2. Remove the protective film from one Wheel Cover.

  3. Align the Wheel Cover against the rear frame and insert each bolt with a washer into the five slots.

Step 3: Install the Connect+ Seat

  1. Place the seat on the rack with the slanted end facing forward.

  2. Align the latch mechanism in the square section of the rack.

  3. Pull the latch pin backward to retract the latch.

  4. Press the seat down until the pin slides back forward and locks.

  5. Do not force the latch.

  6. Double-check that the seat is secure before riding.



Step-by-Step Instructions for Portola 

Most steps are the same as for Cafe Cruiser & Rift, with a few changes: 


Step 1: Attach the Foot Pegs

  1. Use M8x20mm bolts instead of M8x35mm.

  2. Slide a washer onto each bolt.

  3. Insert the bolt from inside the rear braze-on (behind the axle).

  4. Thread it into the foot peg, ensuring it only folds upward.

  5. Tighten securely with a 13mm wrench.


Step 2: Install Connect+ Seat 

  1. Place the seat on the rack with the slanted end facing forward.

  2. Align the latch mechanism in the square section of the rack.

  3. Pull the latch pin backward to retract the latch.

  4. Press the seat down until the pin slides back forward and locks.

  5. Do not force the latch.

  6. Double-check that the seat is secure before riding.

Note: Wheel covers are not needed for Portola. 


Final Steps & Review

  • Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.

  • Check hardware as part of regular bike maintenance.
