There are two types of passenger kits available for purchase. The first type is only to be used with our Cafe Cruiser, Rift, and Portola models, and will not fit our other bikes. The second type was strictly designed for use with the Revv 1. Note: Please only carry passengers that will not exceed the overall weight capacity for your model and are capable of safely riding as a passenger.

Steps for Cafe Cruiser and Rift

Step 1

Start by sliding a large washer onto the M8x35mm bolt and insert it into the rear chainstay of your ebike

from the inside. Carefully thread the bolt into the foot peg paying attention to how the foot peg folds. When

secured the foot peg should only be able to fold up, not down or to the side. Securely tighten the bolt

with the 13mm wrench. Repeat for the other side.

Step 2

Slide a small washer onto each of the M5x15mm bolts and set them aside for now. Remove the protective

film off each side of one of the Wheel Covers and place it against the rear frame of your ebike and carefully start each

screw with a washer into the 5 holes/slots in the Wheel Cover (orange circles below). Once all 5 screws have been started carefully

Step 3

Tighten up all of the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Please be mindful not to over-tighten the bolts

as this can crack the side panels. Repeat for the other side. Both panels are the same and will fit on either

side.

Step 4

The seat is installed using our Connect+ mounting system. Rest the seat in place with the slanted end facing

the front of your ebike and the back end of the latch in the square section of your bike rack, pull the pin on the latch (red circle below) backward to retract the latch and press the seat down into place. The pin should slide back forward when properly secured. Do not force the latch.

Steps for Portola

Most of the steps for the Cafe Cruiser and Rift are followed for the Portola, with a few exceptions.

Step 1

The footpegs need to be attached with shorter bolts (M8x20mm). Start by sliding a washer onto each of these bolts

and insert them into the rear braze-on located behind the axle of your ebike from the inside. Carefully thread the bolt into the foot peg paying attention to how the foot peg folds. When secured, the footpeg should only be able to fold up, not down or to the side. Securely tighten the bolt with the 13mm wrench.

Step 2

Once the footpegs are installed and tightened, it's time to attach the Connect+ seat. The seat is installed using our Connect+ mounting system. Rest the seat in place with the slanted end facing the front of your ebike and the back end of the latch in the square section of your bike rack, pull the pin on the latch (red circle below) backward to retract the latch and press the seat down into place. The pin should slide back forward when properly secured. Do not force the latch.

You are finished with the installation. The wheel guards are not needed for this bike.

Steps for Revv1

Tools needed

You will need a:

  • 3mm allen wrench
  • two 4mm allen wrenches
  • 5mm allen wrench
  • 6mm allen wrench
  • 8mm open-end wrench
  • Wire cutters or scissors
  • Two zip ties

Parts in the kit

Getting started

We recommend working in an area with room to move around the bike and lay out the parts. Removing the battery will make the bike less likely to tip over as you install the passenger kit. Start by opening everything up and making sure you have all the tools and parts you need before getting started. Take care not to lose the hardware.

Remove the light, bracket, and rear frame plug

  • Cut the zip tie and unplug the light
  • Remove the light from the bracket using an 8mm wrench to take the nuts off, save the hardware
  • Unbolt bracket using a 3mm and 4mm Allen wrench
  • Once the light and bracket are removed you can pull the rear frame plug out

Slide in the Passenger Kit

  • Slide the passenger kit into the frame
  • You should be able to see through the front hole in the frame

Secure Passenger kit

  • One at a time holding the side plates in place with the thick end down
  • Slide the long bolt into one end

  • Install the long bolt and side plate with the thick end down into the front hole in the frame

  • Install the other side plate onto the bike in the same way and loosely secure with the short bolt at the end of the long bolt
  • Thread the two medium bolts into the passenger kit going through each of the side plates as shown below

  • Once all the bolts have been started you can tighten them up to 3-5Nm
  • You will need two 4mm allen wrenches to tighten up the long bolt

Install rear light and extension cable

  • Install the rear light onto the mount on the back of the passenger kit and secure it with the two 8mm nuts and washers.

  • Plug the provided extension cable into the light and route along the frame

  • Plug the extension into a wire harness and secure it with a zip tie

Pegs

  • Install the pegs on each side using the allen bolts and allen wrench
  • The pegs should fold up when installed in the right orientation

Important notes

  • Do not exceed 130lbs of total weight on the passenger kit

  • Riding with a passenger will affect the handling of the bike and caution should be taken when riding

  • Periodically check the bolts to make sure they are secure.

  • Ensure that the passenger's feet are kept on the pegs

  • Fold the pegs up and out of the way when not in use
