Thank you for reaching out regarding the Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO) for your Ride1Up e-bike.

At this time, Ride1Up does not issue or have the ability to generate MCOs. Our e-bikes are sold as consumer bicycles and are not manufactured or distributed as titled motor vehicles, which is why an MCO is not provided at the time of purchase.

We understand that New Jersey has recently made changes to how e-bikes are classified and registered, and that some MVC locations may be requesting additional documentation as a result. Because the registration process for e-bikes is still being interpreted and implemented at the state level, requirements can vary by office.

If the MVC is requesting proof of ownership, we recommend confirming with them directly whether alternative documentation—such as your purchase receipt, bill of sale, or the bike’s serial number—may be accepted in place of an MCO. In many cases, state agencies can provide guidance or exceptions when an MCO is not issued by the manufacturer.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to supply an MCO, but we’re happy to assist by providing copies of your order confirmation or any other purchase documentation we have on file if that would be helpful.

Please let us know how you’d like to proceed or if there’s anything else we can assist with.
